## Affected machines This bulletin covers Honda **HRX217KHXA** and **HRX217KHMA** walk-behind lawnmowers. The lawnmowers are dark gray with a red engine cover. The model and serial number are printed on a label located on the upper rear of the deck. ### Affected serial-number range **1400001 through 1453714** Sold at Honda Lawn and Garden dealers nationwide, including Home Depot stores, from **January 2007 through September 2007** for between $800 and $900. About **22,000 units** are affected. ## Issue A **manufacturing defect** can cause a **crack in the fuel tank**, allowing fuel to leak. Leaking gasoline near a hot engine creates a fire and explosion hazard. Reported field incidents at time of recall: - 6 reports of fuel leakage - 0 fires - 0 injuries ## What to do 1. Identify the unit by model number and serial number on the label on the upper rear of the deck. 2. Verify the serial number is in the 1400001 - 1453714 range. 3. **Stop using the lawnmower immediately.** 4. Contact any Honda Lawn and Garden dealer to schedule fuel tank replacement free of charge. 5.
