The model number **"XUV590E"**, **"XUV590M"**, or **"XUV590M S4"** is printed on the hood. **"John Deere"** and **"Gator"** are printed on the cargo box. The serial number is on the **vehicle frame to the right of the rear hitch receiver**. The defect is in the fuel cap seal/sealing surface — when fuel level rises during refueling or with vehicle attitude changes (uphill/downhill operation), liquid fuel can escape past the cap rather than being retained. The remedy is **dealer inspection** of the fuel cap and sealing surface, with **repair or replacement only if necessary** — not all units in the affected serial range manifest the defect.
