## Affected machines About **5,700 US units** of Ariens-built snow throwers and power brushes manufactured for the 2014 winter season. ### Affected products | Product family | Color | Width | Notes | |---|---|---|---| | Ariens Compact Sno-Thro | Orange | 22-24 in | Two-stage | | Ariens Compack Track Sno-Thro | Orange | 22-24 in | Two-stage with track drive | | Sno-Tek brand snow throwers | Black | 20-28 in | Budget single-stage and two-stage | | Ariens 28-inch brush CE | Orange | 28 in | Single-stage power brush | The snow throwers and power brushes have the **Ariens** or **Sno-Tek** brand name printed on the product. The model and serial numbers are on a **white label affixed to the lower rear of the product, near the wheel**. ### Sister Gravely portion A Gravely-branded model PB-28 All Season Power Brush is covered separately in **TNB02600075** — same Ariens-built defect family, distributed under the Gravely brand. Owners of either branded variant should consult their respective dealer. ### Production window Manufactured for the **January - February 2014** sales window. Owners should match by model and serial number on the white label. ## Issue The recalled snow throwers and power brushes pose **amputation and laceration hazards** related to the auger / impeller drivetrain and discharge chute. The CPSC notice did not provide highly specific defect language but the remedy involves dealer inspection of the safety mechanisms protecting the operator from the rotating auger / impeller assembly. This is a separate defect family from the 2025 Deluxe / Platinum / Professional impeller continuing-rotation recall (TNB02600073) — different SKUs, different production era, but a related class of hazard (auger / impeller entrapment). Reported field incidents at recall time: - None reported (US) - 0 injuries ## What to do 1. Find the **white label on the lower rear of the product, near the wheel** and note the model and serial number. 2. **Stop using the recalled snow thrower or power brush immediately**. **Never put your hands into the discharge chute** under any circumstances, even on non-recalled units. 3. Contact Ariens Company at (877) 740-7060 Monday-Friday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. ET for free repair instructions, or visit https://www.ariens.com and click "Recall Information." 4. Free Ariens dealer repair. ## Hazard Severity is rated **warning** because no incidents had been reported at recall time. Owners should treat this with urgency given the routine industry hazard of snow-blower auger entrapment. ## Related bulletins - **TNB02600075** — Gravely PB-28 Power Brush portion of this same recall.
