John Deere 2025R brake failure recall (2018, ~600 units, SN 1LV2025R×HJ100101–101005)

John Deere · 2017–2017 · Published

A small CPSC recall on 2025R compact utility tractors sold July–October 2017. Approximately 600 units in the U.S. and 5 in Canada had a brake fault that could cause loss of braking and a crash hazard. This recall is DISTINCT from the larger 2024 brake bellcrank recall (TNB02600002) — the production windows are non-overlapping (this recall covers Jul–Oct 2017; TNB02600002 covers Nov 2017–Jul 2024).

Details

## Affected machines John Deere 2025R Compact Utility Tractors only. The affected serial number range is **1LV2025R×HJ100101 – 1LV2025R×HJ101005** (approximately 600 units in the U.S., 5 in Canada). The serial number is located on the right side of the frame by the front right tire. Production window: July 2017 through October 2017. ## Issue The brakes can fail, posing crash and injury hazards. This is a separate recall from the broader 2024 brake bellcrank recall covered in TNB02600002. TNB02600002 affects 2025R units built **November 2017 onward**; this earlier 2018 recall affects units built **July through October 2017**. The two windows do not overlap. Both recalls together cover essentially the entire 2025R production from July 2017 onward. If you own a 2025R built in 2017 or later, check your serial number against both recall lists. ## What to do 1. Locate your serial number on the right side of the frame by the front right tire. 2. Check whether your serial number is in the affected range listed above. 3. If it is, **stop using the tractor immediately** and contact an authorized John Deere dealer for the free recall repair. 4. If your tractor is in this earlier window, also confirm you are not subject to the later 2024 bellcrank recall (TNB02600002) — your dealer will know. ## Source U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission Recall Alert (2018). Voluntary recall by Deere & Company in cooperation with CPSC and Health Canada. ## Related - TNB02600002 — 2024 brake bellcrank recall (Nov 2017 – Jul 2024 production, much larger scope including 1023E and 1025R as well as 2025R).
